My fourth car, this was a piece of shit, I had written off the HJ and had little money, I paid $500 for this, I got it from my brothers girlfriends father, he painted it red and black to look a little like an XU1, of course it was nothing like it, it had a 4 cylinder engine was gutless and would often not start, the 4 cylinder Torana was a known piece of junk they had issues with the distributor so often when you would turn the key the engine would crank and crank and not start. I would not endure this thing long, 6 months or more at most. The pics are the closet to the look I could find online.
My car did not have the flutes on the side but it looked pretty close to the pics here, mine did have cheap mags. it did not look that bad and I had always liked the look of the Torana but this was simply a bucket of crap, the 4 cylinder engine was horrible, no guts, often you sat there for ages trying to get it to start and it would flood and you would have to wait for that to settle, pretty depressing considering the car I was driving prior.
