My third car, this was kind of the dream car I had as a teenager, now mine was not a Monaro but it had been done up to look just like one, you had to be a big Monaro fan to pick it was not one, had all the badges, side flutes, instrument cluster and so on. Sadly no pics of this car but these shown give you a good idea what it looked like the one pictures is pretty identical to mine except the rims, mine had mags that where 12 slot chrome rims.
My car was a manual, the one shown here is obviously auto, the instrument cluster and steering wheel are the same as what mine was, this car was seriously the love of my life aside from my girlfriend at the time. Sadly one day coming home from work I had a car stop in front of me and I managed to rear end it and killed the car. My car was a 4.2L V8 manual in black the interior was a cream colour, I traded the Corolla wagon for this plus had to put in a grand, needless to say this was not a popular thing with my parents who were not happy that I traded away the corolla for a black V8. Mine as stated was dressed up to look like a Monaro but mine did not come with the GTS badge in the front grill, I bought one though from Holspares 🙂
The back of my car had a fin as you can see in the pic below on the right, the engine had a 3/4 Crane Cam and plenty of chrome, it sounded really good, I put chrome extensions on the exhausts and a really cool pioneer stereo in it.
Cheryl and I would spend plenty of time cleaning this on her front lawn, black cars look awesome clean but 30 seconds after you clean them they are dirty again!
